"My mixture of

experiences  -

university, tapestry

design and living

have been great

inspirations for

my work."

Born in Toronto in 1959, Jane’s Grade One report card said, "Art should become a major part of Jane's life."  At age 10, Jane started her formal training with oil painting classes at the back of an old framing shop where her love affair with this medium began.

She attended Burnhamthorpe Collegiate Institute, a high school with an emphasis on the visual arts, and studied commercial art and design.  Jane went on to earn a fine arts degree at the University of Guelph.

Shortly after graduating, she worked as a liturgical tapestry designer in Toronto. A great learning experience, she worked with fabulous fabrics designing very large tapestries measuring up to 20 or 30 feet.

This experience gave her the confidence to compose large works of art.  Jane now creates commissioned larger pieces, frequently 5 or 6 feet square. For these larger works, Jane will visit the client’s home when possible for inspiration, returning with notes and input that will help compose a painting which finds harmony and relevance within the client’s home.

Now showing regularly with two prominent Canadian galleries, Jane's work can be seen in numerous private and corporate collections, here in Canada and around the world.  Having created hundreds of paintings, Jane continues her prolific work from her home and studio in London, Ontario.
